I don’t eat red or white meat, processed or unprocessed. I have several delicious plant-based meals on rotation that I make from scratch. I recently discovered sourdough pasta, which is healthy because it’s fermented. I thoroughly enjoy my food.

This is a very informative post! I rarely eat processed foods, but on occasion I do have a pepperoni pizza, ham sandwich or artisan salt cured meat. I will be more conscious of these proteins going forward. For me, the AGEs is the biggest wakeup call. We only BBQ in the summer months and usually once or twice a week so I will definitely consider the impact of cooking food on the BBQ and keep it in the "treat" category. I wish people knew more about the negative impact of "processed foods". I find it very sad to see lineups at the McDonald's window on a Saturday or Sunday night with people/families picking up fast food for dinner. One would think the weekend would provide more time to put a decent meal on the table but it seems convenience and lack of knowledge of how to easily put together a nutritious meal have fallen by the wayside. I believe that "cooking" is a life skill that everyone should know but it seems to be overlooked in society today, unfortunately.
